Pradeep Bhatee
Researcher
Pradeep was born in India and came to the Unites States as a 13-year-old. He attended international high school at LaGaurdia Community College in Queens, where he became interested in science, and then studied physics at Syracuse University, where he met excited and passionate people and got interested in technology as well. Pradeep says that with modern computations and creative thinking came robots, and he is also excited to see the possibilities in this machine world. "I am very curious about how things work and would really like to understand it. Given the complexity and nature of robotic, it is anything but trivial and is all about exploration," he says.
Joseph Barcia
Researcher
Joseph's fascination with electronics started, he says, when he was younger. He was a child that had deep curiosity for how things worked. When I was ten, I even was devoted to feeding this curiosity by reading books on how things work. "My parents always found me disassembling my toys because since I was this age, I realized that I learn best with hands on experience. To this day, I feel the same." Joseph is currently attending New York Institute of Technology, where he will be receiving his Bachelors Degree in Computer Science in May 2009. His extracurricular activities include robotics, photography, and the outdoors. "I chose to work for Roboutique because I believe in their practices. Robotics is an up and coming industry. Unfortunately interest in science and mathematics has been declining rapidly since the space race ended and the United States landed on the moon. Roboutique is here to help educate and make science fun. This is something I feel that everyone can benefit from," he says. |
